BARTLEBY PRESS MOVES
Bartleby Press is excited to announce its move to historic Savage Mill. Founded in 1822 Savage Mill was one of the nation's leading textile manufacturers whose main product was a cotton canvas known as "cotton duck". The material was used as cannon covers during the Civil War, transport bags in both World Wars, sails for clipper ships and even as backdrops for the first Hollywood films; the mill closed in 1947. Savage Mill was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. ![]() Today Savage Mill is a popular tourist site and home to art studios, antique centers, specialty shops and restaurants. Nearby is the Bollman Truss semi-suspension bridge (the last of its type in existence) that spans the Little Patuxent river. Bartleby Press is located in the Cotton Shed Building, one of the mill's nine remaining original buildings. Since 1981. Bartleby Press has been devoted to crafting books of quality that are fun to read and a pleasure to own. Two of Bartleby's latest releases are Hope Matters: How Faith Works in America by John A. Calhoun and Now Is Gone: A Primer On New Media For Executives and Entrepreneurs by Geoff Livingston with Brian Solis. ####
